Cahokia RV Parque FAQ

Every guest arrives with a few questions before they book, that’s normal, and it’s exactly what this Cahokia RV Parque FAQ page is here to answer. Below you’ll find the questions we hear most often, from cancellations and check-in times to WiFi, pets, and discounts. If you don’t see your answer here, our team is always happy to help directly.

Booking, Cancellations & Rentals

Is an RV park stay considered a short-term rental?

Yes, an overnight or short-stay RV site is generally treated as a short-term rental, similar to a hotel stay, rather than a lease. This matters most for guests asking for insurance, tax, or employer travel-reimbursement purposes. If you need documentation for one of these reasons, let our office know when you book and we can help.

Cancellation and refund terms can vary depending on your reservation type and length of stay. Please call our office at (618) 332-7700 to confirm the current policy before you book, so there are no surprises if your plans change.

Notice requirements depend on your reservation type. Give us a call as early as possible if your plans change, the earlier you let us know, the more flexible we can typically be.

If you don’t arrive and haven’t contacted us, your reservation may be released. If your plans change, please call ahead, even a same-day heads-up helps us hold or reassign your site fairly.

Cancellation fees can apply depending on timing and reservation type. Call (618) 332-7700 to confirm current terms before booking.

Check-In, Check-Out & Arrival

What are check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is at noon, and check-out is at 11am.

Early check-in or late check-out may be possible depending on availability on your arrival or departure day. Call ahead and we’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule.

No problem, there’s a night registration box located between the restrooms for after-hours arrivals. Follow the instructions there and our team will take care of the rest in the morning.

Yes. All guests need to register, either during office hours or through the after-hours registration box if arriving late, before setting up at a site.

Power, Site Rules & Overstays

Can I run a generator if the power goes out?

Generator use policies can depend on the situation and site location. If you experience a power outage during your stay, contact our office directly and we’ll walk you through what’s allowed for your site.

No. Guests are charged the difference in rate if found using 50-amp service on a 30-amp reservation. If you need 50-amp power, let us know when booking so we can set you up on the right site from the start.

Staying beyond your reserved dates without prior arrangement can result in additional charges. If you’d like to extend your stay, contact our office as soon as possible, we’ll do our best to accommodate you and make sure your rate is set up correctly from the start.

Long-Term & Monthly Stays

What do I need to become a monthly renter?

To register as a monthly renter, you’ll need valid registration and insurance for your camper, along with a photo ID. Our office can walk you through the full process when you’re ready to set up a monthly stay.

Yes. Even for long-term and monthly stays, your RV must be able to be moved within 24 hours in case of evacuation, emergency, or site maintenance. This applies to all guests, regardless of length of stay.

WiFi & Connectivity

Is WiFi available at my site, or just near the office?

WiFi is available on-site for guests. Coverage and signal strength can vary depending on where your site is located within the park, so if a dependable connection is essential for your stay (for remote work, for example), we’d recommend having a mobile hotspot as backup.

Like most campground WiFi, ours is a helpful convenience rather than a guaranteed utility, signals can fluctuate depending on demand and location. We don’t want to overpromise here: if reliable, high-speed internet is a must for your trip, plan for a backup option just in case.

Pets & On-Site Amenities

Is there a dog park?

Yes, Cahokia RV Parque has an on-site dog park, and it’s the one place where the leash rule is waived. Outside of the dog park, pets must remain leashed at all times throughout the property.

No, pets aren’t permitted in the laundry room. This helps keep the space clean and comfortable for all guests.

Safety & the Surrounding Area

Is the area around the park safe?

We understand this is a common question for guests unfamiliar with the area. Cahokia RV Parque is a small campground, and our team is on-site and present throughout your stay, not a remote, unstaffed lot. Many of our guests are repeat visitors and long-term residents who’ve stayed with us for years. If you ever have a specific safety question before booking, our staff is happy to talk it through with you directly.

Discounts & Savings

What discounts are available, and what do I need to bring?

We offer a 10% discount for Military members. Simply mention your discount when booking and bring valid ID or membership proof at check-in.
